As kids we’re taught about honesty and we’re told "be yourself," but what does that really mean?

The waitress goes home and becomes a mom, the kids go to bed and she becomes a mom.

So be yourself really means compartmentalize. Be honest actually means be honest with yourself.

In that sense, perhaps modulation is not new. What is new is how much of our life has become performative.

This could be a jrnl log on my computer but is public instead. What is gained and what is lost? And perhaps more importantly, how to establish that boundary between visibility and invisibility?

Linkedin that.
